Leaving behind a politically charged awards season in support of the Time’s Up movement, which witnessed stars wearing all-black outfits at the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs, the 90th Oscar Academy Awards marked the return to colors and bold fashion choices. The Time’s Up organizers didn’t request the unofficial dress code in an attempt to highlight that the importance of the movement goes beyond the red carpet. ‘Time’s Up was launched on the red carpet, but was never intended to live there’, stated Shonda Rhimes, one of the movement’s founders. White gowns were a big trend on the red carpet this year, but many stars opted for bold tones and head-to-toe sparkle. Take a look at the best looks from this year’s Academy Awards.
